Requirements
Must:
• Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of experience leading and scaling technical teams, ideally in dynamic and fast-growing tech environments.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of software and system architecture, scalability, and modern organizational approaches like domain‐driven design and continuous delivery.
• Team Building: A proven ability to build strong teams, recruit top talent, and foster a culture of ownership and excellence.
• Soft Skills and Values: Excellent communication skills, the ability to inspire teams, and a knack for fostering trust and collaboration. With empathy and decisiveness, you drive innovation while keeping the big picture in focus.
• Strategic Thinking: A strong understanding of the interplay between organization, technology, and product, enabling you to develop sustainable, scalable solutions.
• Language Skills: Strong English skills are essential, as teams primarily communicate in English. Good German skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
• Drive the building and scaling of a high‐performing development team as Head of Development (m/f/d). Create an environment where developers reach their full potential with clear structures, modern technologies, and a focus on technical excellence.
• Ensure the team delivers quickly and reliably without compromising on scalability, security, or quality.
• Recruit, develop, and inspire talent to create a sustainably growing organization by establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and processes.
• Collaborate with the CTO and the product and engineering teams to develop a roadmap that balances technical innovation with market‐driven priorities.
• Build a strong, high‐performing development team through targeted recruitment, mentoring, and fostering individual strengths.
• Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and processes that enable sustainable growth while maintaining agility to respond to challenges.
• Foster independent, self-organized teams that efficiently deliver end-to-end solutions with full ownership.
• Implement standards and best practices to ensure quality, scalability, and reusability.
