Requirements

Must:
- Innovation & technological foresight - Experience in integrating new technologies and digital solutions to enhance processes and competitiveness - Solid understanding of the possibilities and limitations of AI in the corporate context - Experience in AI/LLM-supported development and ideally in integrating AI-based features - Extensive experience in C#/.NET or comparable programming languages and in the professional leadership of developers - Proficient in scalable database systems (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and modern backend architectures (modular services) - Ideally experienced with Angular (v15) and RabbitMQ - Pragmatic openness to new technologies - Proven knowledge in Docker/Kubernetes, automated deployments and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) - Strong understanding of cutting, scaling, and orchestrating services - Routine in using Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated tests (Unit & System Tests) - High quality standards without quick-fix mentality - with pragmatism and holistic product understanding - Close-to-product way of working and ability to translate discovery results into clear, structured technical solutions - Ability to communicate complex technical issues appropriately to non-technical stakeholders - Ability to prioritize requirements structure and traceability based on (business) impact and effort - Open, clear, and inspiring leadership - especially during change phases - English at least C1 (team), German at least B2 (stakeholders)

Responsibilities

- Ensuring architectural and modernization concept, development and scaling of our core systems (C#/.NET, MS SQL) into resilient, containerized services on Linux/Kubernetes - Targeted reduction of internal technical complexity while enhancing stability, resilience, and maintainability - Making informed architectural and platform decisions and further developing technical standards (modularization, interfaces, security, Infrastructure as Code) - Early embedding of non-functional requirements such as observability, performance, scaling, security, and deployment during scoping - Providing technical support to product managers in discovery and prioritization processes and explaining complex technical contexts clearly - Expanding and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and establishing clean code practices, code reviews, and automated tests (unit and system tests) with a clear shift-left mindset - Increasing development speed (time-to-market) through measurably shorter development cycles and more frequent, reliable deployments - Ensuring sustainable quality improvements in software development, measured by how rarely productive features need to be rolled back or adjusted - Establishing AI/LLM-supported development in the engineering daily routine - Actively building knowledge across the team and ensuring knowledge is not bound to individuals - Creating structured, understandable, and up-to-date process and system documentation to make relevant architectures, decisions, and processes transparent - Developing and establishing practical best-practice guidelines, technical standards, and policies focused on quality and efficiency - Disciplinary leadership and coaching of developers in architecture, clean code, systemic thinking, and container and deployment responsibility - Empowering the team to make independent decisions within clear guidelines; making the decision when in doubt - Quick and effective onboarding of new team members through clear structures, good documentation, and systematic knowledge transfer - Promoting continuous learning, knowledge exchange, and constructive communication - Leading with empathy and fostering accountability for stability and production operations
