A minimum of 3 years of experience in a management or leading position, ideally related to alloy development, is essential. The ability to develop people, processes, and strategies while effectively communicating with various stakeholders is crucial. Strong project management and communication skills, as well as excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, are highly valued. You should have comprehensive knowledge of aluminum metallurgy and aluminum alloys, particularly regarding microstructure, alloying additions, and their mechanical properties. We seek a communicative and motivated individual who enjoys working in interdisciplinary teams. Proficiency in German and English is required, and knowledge of any additional languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

In this disciplinary role, I will lead a team of 12-15 people, primarily scientists and some technical experts. The main goals of our department include developing new aluminum alloy solutions with a high recycling content. I need to align with the process optimization team to design specific processes for these alloys and support the widening of alloy specifications. My responsibilities will also involve developing and implementing melt purification techniques to procure less clean scrap, along with managing scrap within our production and advising plants on scrap evaluation and handling to optimize recovery. I will provide technical advice to support the melting and casting production process and help develop and industrialize technologies that utilize alternative green energies. Assessing project feasibility and ensuring alignment with our main business needs and strategy will be essential. Additionally, I will manage interfaces and collaborate with Business Unit Heads and management teams. Leading key projects that fulfill business goals while prioritizing high-value deliverables will also fall under my responsibilities. Furthermore, I will oversee the delivery of high-quality research and ensure that our scientific work impacts the organization positively, connecting it with individual business areas and production at Speira. Coaching and assisting my team, including skills development, will be a priority.
