Requirements
Must:
- Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or other related Engineering disciplines.
- Excellent knowledge of military satellite communication systems (preferably with heritage on SATCOMBw).
- Profound knowledge of satellite communications engineering, including technical interfaces, data flow (for user and management data), and TM/TC engineering (secure and unsecured).
- Strong knowledge of communication engineering, including RF link budgets and antenna designs.
- Strong experience in software-based systems, networks, and IT infrastructure.
- Profound experience in modern Digital Payload, Ground Station, Spacecraft Control Center, and Payload Control Center engineering.
- Experience in design, development, integration, verification, and operations of Satellite Communications Systems and associated processes and operational procedures.
- Experience in leading a multi-national engineering team.
- Business fluency in English and German (minimum C2 for both).
Responsibilities
As an Overarching Systems Engineer - Satellite Communication Systems, I will focus on the concept, design, development, and technical requirements of system upgrades and modifications for the SATCOMBw Satellite Communication System for the German armed forces. I will align different system modifications and upgrades, working closely with Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers of the major system upgrades across the space segment as well as the ground and user infrastructure. I will be responsible for overall system performance, supervising major system upgrade acceptances to ensure we meet the overall system requirements. I will maintain system performance over its lifetime and propose necessary improvements and modifications to keep it state-of-the-art. I will also participate in system anomaly boards and act as the technical authority to support issue resolution.
