Requirements

Must:
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; alternatively a Master's in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a strong software development background. - Experience as a Software Architect or in a similar lead technical role, preferably in the aviation industry, satellite communication, or general data communication. - Excellent understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and security best practices. - Skilled in negotiating to engage, influence, and build consensus among a wide range of stakeholders with competing priorities. - Understanding of architectural patterns, design principles, and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum). - Knowledge of mobile telecommunications technologies, WiFi technologies, IoT and/or avionics systems, virtualization solutions, and IT protocols. - Strong understanding of standard networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, VPNs). - Deep understanding of core data security principles and methods to mitigate common security vulnerabilities. - Experience with RBE tools (e.g., DOORS). - Experience with validation and verification of software.

Responsibilities

- Architect distributed data communication systems for aviation, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and safety-critical requirements. - Oversee the integration of various software components, avionics systems, ground support equipment, and external data feeds, ensuring interoperability and data integrity. - Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions in the aviation environment. - Create and maintain detailed system documentation related to software development processes. - Validate system software in alignment with requirements documents. - Facilitate cross-project cooperation to define uniform software solutions. - Manage system software development and integration with internal and external suppliers, using agile methodologies where appropriate. - Manage software verification processes in testing areas and perform root cause analysis of software problems in service. - Identify and define tasks for subcontracted development work. - Work collaboratively and communicate transparently with the project team, adapting to project needs while ensuring accountability.
