Muss:
- Exceptional research skills evidenced by high-quality peer-reviewed computer science publications
- International visibility in the field of quantum information theory, preferably focusing on quantum algorithms or quantum complexity theory
- Teaching experience with the ability to teach in German after a suitable time period
- Experience in acquiring third-party funds, ideally in large joint projects
- Potential for collaboration across disciplines, particularly in relation to existing quantum professorships in the departments of Mathematics and Physics
- Commitment to promote internationalization within university life
- Candidates must have a university degree; proof of equivalence from Germanys Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required if applicable
Verantwortlichkeiten
- Participate actively in research and teaching, including basic courses in mathematics and computer science
- Contribute to a new M.Sc. study program in Quantum Information
- Expand research and transfer activities in quantum information theory at Saarland University and associated research institutions
- Acquire external funding and contribute to joint research proposals for the department, faculty, and university
- Foster further internationalization and collaboration within existing international cooperative networks
- Engage in departmental and faculty responsibilities including administration and mentoring of students
Beschreibung
At Saarland University, we are forming a new Center for Quantum Technologies and invite applications for a W2 Professorship in Quantum Algorithms, Complexity, and Quantum Information Theory. This fixed-term position offers the potential for a permanent professorship based on positive evaluation.
