Systems Engineer - Military Satellite Communication Systems (d/f/m)

As a Systems Engineer - Military Satellite Communication Systems, I will work on the concept, design, development, and technical requirements of system upgrades and modifications of the SATCOMBw Satellite Communication System and its related program upgrades for the German armed forces. I will be responsible for aligning different system modifications and upgrades of the Systemverbund SATCOMBw. Collaboration will be essential, as I will work closely with Chief Engineers and Lead Systems Engineers of the major system upgrades of both the space segment and the ground and user infrastructure. My role includes supervising the acceptance of major system upgrades to ensure they meet overall system requirements. During routine operations, I will maintain system performance over its lifetime and propose improvements, necessary extensions, and modifications to keep the system state-of-the-art. I will also participate in system anomaly boards that may occur and act as the technical authority to support technical resolutions of issues. My tasks include requirements engineering with DOORS, conducting conceptual design activities, establishing requirements for various satellite systems, analyzing end-to-end communication performance, leading system trade-offs, and providing technical support to project managers.
