Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in a senior role combining software engineering and data engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in similar positions.
- Good domain knowledge in Energy Trading environments, including trading and portfolio management systems, data flows, and related applications.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms like Azure, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Professional-level skills in Python/Pyspark development, database management, and data warehousing.
- Professional experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory for pipelining, Azure Databricks for data processing, and PowerBI for reporting and analytics.
- Good knowledge in streaming and interfacing technologies including Kafka, Terraform, and Azure Microservices.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including chairing meetings and facilitating workshops.
- Enthusiasm for training and upskilling internal and external staff on technical topics.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: I will partner with stakeholders across business units to translate complex requirements into robust data-driven technical solutions, integrating data engineering and software development.
- Hands-On Development: I will build and optimize data pipelines using modern programming languages and frameworks, with a focus on Python/Pyspark/Snowpark for development and integration.
- Data Pipeline and Warehousing Optimization: I will design, implement, and maintain efficient data workflows and data warehousing solutions using tools like Snowflake to ensure seamless data ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval.
- Cloud-Native Solutions: I will leverage Azure cloud platforms to deploy scalable data and software solutions, incorporating serverless architectures, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Agile Delivery: I will drive solution delivery through agile methodologies, managing end-to-end development cycles, from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Quality Assurance: I will conduct rigorous testing, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of data systems.
- Operational Excellence: I will monitor and optimize production environments using observability tools and implement CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery using tools like Azure DevOps.
