Wie kann ich mich als Entwickler in Ihrem Unternehmen weiterentwickeln (Karrierewege und Lernmöglichkeiten)?

  • You will attend an agile training and have the opportunity to get certified in leading development and cloud technologies (eg. AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Atlassian).
  • In our Communities of Practice (CoP), we discuss internal matters and deepen our knowledge on various topics, such as in the CoP Agile, the CoP Knowledge Transfer or the CoP Cloud.
  • With us, you have the opportunity to develop in different directions, e.g. in agile consulting, cloud consulting, and much more. 

Schreiben Sie lieber immer Ihre eigene Software oder verwenden Sie vorhandene Frameworks, wenn diese passen?

We mostly try to use frameworks, but they need to fit more than just one use case. Otherwise, we are happy to write our own stuff.

  • Self Organization: Since we don't believe in maintaining unnecessary hierarchies, we work in a self-organized structure and place great value on (self-)responsibility.   • We are a bunch of tech nerds, values like diversity and transparency play an important role at Scandio. We simply want to develop great technologies, so everyone has a part in that! Our teams differ in size from 3 to 15 people.
  • We are structured in Clusters (e.g. Development Cluster, Consulting Cluster, Cloud Cluster) and expand our knowledge in various Topics (eg. Atlassian, AI) and CoPs (Communities of Practice).

We offer working models for all circumstances, with us you can also work part-time without any difficulties and also adjust your working hours flexibly according to your needs. 

Erlauben Sie Remote-Arbeit?

You choose where you work best - in one of our modern offices or in the home office. According to an internal survey from December 2020, Scandians want to be in the office an average of 2.8 days a week. Nobody wants to work at the office every day, nobody wants to be at home every day. We are also very flexible in this manner. 

Wenn Sie Agile machen - wie ist Ihr agiler Prozess- und Release-Zyklus? Wie viel Codierung im Vergleich zu Meetings / Planung?

In our exciting projects, we work with agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban. Our self-organization is also based on an agile mindset. Every employee receives an agile training within the first months, no matter if developer, consultant or non-techie. 

Haben Sie interne Tech-Workshops oder Hackathons? Gibt es ein Bildungsbudget?

  • You can realize your own ideas and projects at our annual ShipIt Days! For 24 hours, we don't work on customer projects, but only on our own ideas. An award ceremony and an after-party are part of it too! 
  • We also encourage continuous learning and offer you the opportunity to participate in both internal and external workshops and training sessions. Our knowledge responsible organize the internal knowledge transfer and assist you with the implementation of workshops - these take place on average every 2 weeks. With our support, you can also achieve various certifications of your interest (e.g. Atlassian, AWS, Azure, SAFe, Salesforce, Scrum, Slack, etc.).

Kann ich einen Teil meiner Zeit an meinen Projekten oder Open Source arbeiten?

We organise our yearly 24h hackathon to work on our own projects, but it`s not intended to work on these projects during daily business. But since we strive to maintain a healthy work-life integration, you can mostly arrange your working hours to fit in your own projects.

Was muss ich tun, um ein 50-Dollar-Lehrbuch auf Unternehmenskosten zu kaufen?

We have an internal Help Desk, where you can create a ticket for several kinds of requests (e.g. also for educational books), which will be processes mostly within a few hours.  

💼 Wie sieht der Interviewprozess bei Scandio aus?

  1. If your application convinced us, you will receive an invitation for a Zoom interview a few days after the receipt of the application. During the approx. thirty-minute conversation, we will ask you some questions to get to know you better and answer your questions as well. You will get feedback within three to five business days after the interview. 
  2. If we put you in the second round, you will get an invitation for another Zoom interview in which we would like to get to know you even better because we are really interested in winning you over to the Scandio team. In this conversation, you can also ask us anything that is on your mind. After one to three business days, you will get a final response with our decision.

Martin Schmid agreed to share a personal opinion about working at Scandio. He is working as a Software Engineer.

What are you currently working on at Scandio

I am currently working on an AI based recognition module to detect and classify things from a camera image. That module is deployed to a cloud infrastructure which will handle a huge amount of requests per day.


What do you like most about working at Scandio

Working on solutions for problems which were thought to be impossible 10 years ago. That rapid change of technology increases our possibilities every day and shapes a new reality.

What are the things that are not perfect and you would like to change?

Decrease amount of meetings maybe. But all in all I do not have much to complain on :)
